Design review

Schematic and PCB design review before manufacturing

An outside view on your board before you release it to manufacturing. An error found on the schematic costs an hour; the same error found on a prototype costs a new batch of boards and several weeks.

What we check

  • Schematic: power supplies, decoupling, protection, component values, pinouts and IC configuration.
  • Layout: return paths, ground planes, power tracks, sensitive and fast signals, footprints.
  • EMC: current loops, filtering, connector and antenna placement, risks before lab testing.
  • Manufacturability: fabricator rules, panelisation, test points, assembly and production programming.
  • Cost: layer count, board area, available parts and cheaper equivalents.
Multilayer electronic board under design review

How it works

1. You send the files

Schematic, layout (Altium, KiCad or Gerbers) and BOM, with a short description of what the board does.

2. We review the board

A complete, point-by-point review by an EPFL-trained electronics engineer.

3. You get a report

Every finding is ranked by priority, with the proposed fix. We can then go through it together.

Frequently asked questions

What do you need for a PCB design review?

The schematic as PDF or source files, the layout (Altium or KiCad project, or Gerber files), the BOM and, if possible, a short description of what the board does.

How much does a schematic and PCB review cost?

From about CHF 900 for a typical board. The price depends on layer and component count, and it is confirmed before we start. Our quote tool gives you an estimate in two minutes.

Do you review boards designed in KiCad or other tools?

Yes. We work in Altium Designer, but we can review boards designed in KiCad, EasyEDA or other tools, from the source files or the Gerbers.

What if the review shows the board needs rework?

You can fix it yourself from the report, or hand the rework over to us. See our electronics design office in Lausanne.
