Project Cases

Linear IPS for unidirectional applications

PCB Design: This 4-layer PCB uses the top two layers for receiving and transmitting coils, and the bottom two for connections to the IC. The coil system includes one set of receiving coils (three paths) and one set of transmitting coils (six rectangular turns).

Application Details: Detects a total stroke of 20 mm with a 5 mm wide target.

Coil dimensions: 14 mm (height) x 30 mm (length).

Airgap max : 3.5 mm

Achievable Accuracy : ±0.25% Full stroke (20 mm) across the three airgap configurations

O-shaped IPS for rotary applications

Automotive Application PCB: Designed for a range of automotive applications, such as pedals with a 72-degree detection range and electric motors with a periodicity of 5. With these dimensions, the PCB allows for an air gap of up to 3 mm between the coils and the target.

PCB Dimensions: Detects a maximum rotation stroke of 72 degrees with a periodicity of 5 (target with five lobes). Coil dimensions: 20 mm outer diameter, 4 mm inner diameter.

Airgap max : 3.4 mm

Achievable Accuracy: ±0.2 el. degrees across three airgap configurations

Arc IPS for finite angular motion applications

Clutch Pedal PCB: This low-cost, 2-layer PCB for an automotive application includes one set of receiving coils (three paths) and one set of transmitting coils (7 turns).

PCB Dimensions: Detects a stroke of 64 degrees. Target inner radius: 18 mm, outer radius: 27 mm, target opening: 25 degrees.

Airgap max : 2.5 mm

Achievable Accuracy: ±0.5 deg across three airgap configurations
